Alumni Academy
The Alumni Academy was such an informative and enjoyable experience. I learned more about the school and acquired more
enthusiasm than I ever thought prior to participating. I look forward to attending many
more events and to donating my skills where they may be of help....The experience far exceeded my expectations."

About the Alumni Academy
The Alumni Academy is an eight-month volunteer development program which provides alumni participants with the knowledge and understanding to engage as volunteers within the Alumni Association and throughout campus.
Founded in 1998, the Alumni Academy has educated more than 150 volunteers who have gone on to serve in a variety of roles in support of the University, including serving on Association committees, mentoring students, leading clubs and chapters, advocating for UCLA, raising money for Alumni Scholarships and serving on the UCLA Alumni Association Board of Directors. Alumni volunteers are an integral component of UCLA, and the knowledge and talents that they can bring to their alma mater will have an impact on the future of our students and the University.
Each Alumni Academy class comprises alumni who represent the full spectrum of UCLA's population, with varied graduation years, cultural backgrounds and volunteer experiences. Class members share a desire to increase awareness of the goals and priorities of the Association and the University and have exhibited a readiness to take the next step in support of UCLA. Participants must be UCLA degree-holders and current Alumni Association members.
Participants can expect to fulfill the program requirements by participating in an Academy-related activity or meeting once per month over the course of an eight-month program, beginning in September and ending in April. Program activities include Alumni Academy meetings, participating on committees and in programs, and attending events.
By the conclusion of the Alumni Academy program, graduates will have a broad overview of Association and University priorities, programs and involvement opportunities. They will be prepared to take the next step in their UCLA involvement. Through expanding their knowledge, experience and relationships with key figures in the University community, Academy graduates find that they are equipped to play important roles in promoting the quality and stature of UCLA among the nation's most distinguished universities.
